Rigor: Independent Checks Before You Commit Money

Before you pick an exchange, a broker, a fund or a course, you should know what is behind the name and what nobody could confirm. Rigor is our set of sourced checks. Every figure has a link and a date, and every gap is shown as a gap.

Verified figures, not advice. Rigor shows what is behind a name and what we could not confirm. It does not tell you what to buy, where to trade or whether a price will rise. Each check is a snapshot with its date.

The five rules behind every check

  1. Every figure has a source and a date. The link is next to the number, so you can check it yourself.
  2. "Not verified" is an answer. When we cannot confirm something from a primary source, we say so. We never fill a gap with an estimate.
  3. Our own calculations are labelled. A figure we worked out is marked "computed" and the method is shown.
  4. No sponsors, no affiliate links. Nobody pays to be listed or to rank higher.
  5. Right of reply. A company that disagrees can send a statement and we publish it. How corrections work.

Questions people ask

What is Rigor?

It is the name for our sourced checks: ranking exchanges and brokers, comparing wallets and funds, reading the value of stocks and commodities, and checking prop firms and courses. All use the same five rules.

Is a high Rigor ranking a recommendation?

No. It says how much we could verify and what the record shows, not whether a product suits you. Use it as a first filter and read the sources.

Who pays for this?

Nobody sponsors a ranking and there are no affiliate links. The publisher is an individual; see the About page.

How often are the checks updated?

We aim for a new edition every quarter, and we correct errors as soon as they are reported. The change log lists what changed.

How do I report a mistake?

Use the corrections page. We acknowledge in 3 working days and fix within 10.
