Security incidents

• 2024-11-28 XT announced a temporary suspension of withdrawals citing wallet upgrade and maintenance; PeckShield reported about USD 1.7 million siphoned from XT wallets (XT stated about USD 1 million across 12 currencies). Outcome: XT stated the affected funds belonged to the company and user assets were unaffected; it stated reserves of about 1.5x user balances and announced a Merkle Tree Asset Proof System for mid-December 2024. Regulator and court actions

• 2025-03-06 Ontario Securities Commission / Capital Markets Tribunal (Canada): Tribunal permanently banned XT.com Exchange and BZ Limited from Ontario capital markets, based on a Quebec decision (TMF) finding the platform sold securities without registration or prospectus. Verified via search/fetch: 2024 incident, Ontario/Quebec action, Malaysia alert. Not verified: operating entity, OAM/Italy acceptance, PoR publication/auditor, fees (table not readable), products, other licences. Quebec AMF pages not readable.
